The University of Edinburgh has a virtual history archive project that is bringing together and making available lots of information about different areas on Scottish life during the First World War. You can find it at http://www.edinburghs-war.ed.ac.uk/
It is definitely worth a look for anyone exploring a Scottish family history, even if it doesn’t have the information you want some of the documents have the original sources referenced, or anyone interested in the impact of the war on cities like Edinburgh. Or my personal favourite piece about how the Girl Guides helped MI5!!
